CONDITION:  I realize all old books have some wear  - Because shoppers will calculatevalue on this scarce book largely based on condition I have examined it closely andoffer the following detailed comments, along with lots of pictures.  Yet please feel freeto write if you have additional questions.Summary of condition - very good, with less than expected wear- NOT AN X-Librarybook, part of a private collection.    Main wear is an interior separation at the fronthinge, causing the first 6 pages (all previous to the preface) to lie loose inside.PAGES: All present - no tears - no stains, other than some light random age toning.Only writing is on the front interior pastedown on the board - reading "Property ofMary Ranney Givens, presented by my uncle ZENAS E RAMMEY of MIDDLETOWN CONN."   You may want to know there is an attached printed sheet to the front flyleaf (measures about 3" long, 5" wide) listing the 9 generations beginning withPocahontas marriage to John Role, through Edith Bolling's marriage to WoodrowWilson.BOARDS:   Brilliant and clean- Even gilt lettering still vivid on spine.  Main wear issome random thin, light fading on spine corner tips, some very thin, slight linear markson spine, and extreme edge, which appears to be due to shelf wear. See ebay picture. probably caused from  touching a hard surface.  Nothing major at allBINDING:  Paper covering the interior hinges is cracked - a picture is provided for you to view.  The binding is still solid, but the boards are a bit wiggily, and as statedunder the Pages description, the first 6 lie loose.   Binding threads are still attached,it's just the paper covering, when in place, kept things tight.   The new owner maywish to repair the openings with either some type of clear glue, or have a professionaluse some type of binding tape.  I believe the expense will be minimal, and the book iswell worth the investment.
