While the deck is firmly rooted in Thoth/GD tradition, it incorporates newer ideas and systems of understanding from many who have followed in The Beast's footsteps. For example, 2 extra trump cards have been added to satisfy the keen observations of Dr. Timothy Leary. Much of the OTO symbolism of Thoth has been simplified into more direct, outspoken visuals that speak to a broader cultural base. In addition to the astrological system in the Thoth courts, Bifrost uses the 4 prince/queen pairs to implement LaVey's Personality Synthesizer.
