Description
Out Of print Nathan Never Tarocchi Del Futuro by Michele Medda, Antonio Serra, Giuseppe Vigna and Nicola Mari This is another art tarot deck that is Major Arcana only, and it is based on a comic book series from Europe, which features Nathan Never as a main character. Unlike the Dylan Dog series and tarot, which is an occult horror type series, this is a futuristic space fantasy with heroes and villains in a grand sci-fi style. The artwork is excellent and reminds me a lot of "Blade Runner" meets "Josie and the Pussycats in Outer Space." Not making light of it but the Lovers card features two cats, or cat-like creatures, who are apparently figures in the story. Pets on board the space station perhaps? They are drawn in an endearing and loving manner which softens the otherwise hard lines of the robotic and mechanical world of Nathan Never. Since this deck is Major Arcana only, there are no Minors, no court cards or suits. The titles in the Major Arcana follow standard order and names, with Justice as 8 and Strength 11. The title is featured in Italian only, in the top white border above the image area, accompanied by its Roman numeral (using the subtractive). Other than the title, the card image is left to pretty much speak for itself. There is a cold, somber feeling to this deck which fairly well sums up how life in space would be. Most of the cards seem to take place at night. Many of these are breathtaking, especially the Stars card, which also graces the box cover. The cards themselves are a little smaller than standard, which is the usual size for LoScarabeo decks up until late 1998. They are printed on a fairly thick and heavy cardstock and have smooth edges with rounded corners. You can shuffle and handle these cards easily.
