Century Red Amber Jesuit Djinn Wand VOODOO' Description ~ Voodoo Priestess Estate ~  Jesuit Recovered Red Burmite Djinn Wand of the LiDiex   ~!~ This is another of our very long listings with an abundant text & 93 photographs.  Please be patient & give them time to load.  If you have come this far we feel you will find it is worth the wait. ~!~ Just over six & a half years ago we were called to do the estate that had been closed up for seventeen years! Voodoo Estate! This type of call usually gets us excited as they are a treasure trove. Located here in Florida, there was no electricity or running water so we rigged our own lighting & in we went. If you have ever seen the Adams Family you will have some idea as to what we were greeted with! Then the attorney handling the liquidation gave us some background. The home had belonged to an alleged powerful Voodoo Priestess/JooJoo Exorcist, grand daughter of a Marie Laveau, & favored daughter of a Marie Glapion. This did not have much impact on us other than to cause an uneasy feeling when in the house & we declined to spend the night while inventorying.  Deciding instead to stay in a hotel to return during daylight. Our research has shown that this woman was what she claimed & was indeed descended from a long line of well known Vodoun family originating in New Orleans in the early 1800's. We were pretty unnerved by this until we discovered they were also devout Catholics! Although I have to admit this was unlike any Catholic home we have ever been in & some of the items found inside were a little more than unnerving. There was no feeling of dread or unwelcome in the home, however there was quite a bit of contraband & other items we can not sell here on eBay. This is one of a few pieces from this estate we will be listing this week, so check our other listings! We will, upon the winning bidder's request, issue a named Letter of Authenticity with each piece from this estate, complying with the terms set forth to us by the estate's attorney. Back To The Auction Found "prominently placed at altar" in the suite of the 1888 LiDiex.  His sealed suite was the north wing suite that shielded the Black Pyramid Vèvè Room (see our other listings ). It is one of two similar lots, both alleged & apparently made by the same maker & of the same material. Thy are alleged to contain "the essence" of a pair of Djinn that walked the earth 25,000 years ago! This will be the only one of these that we will be making available. ~!~ 1888 LiDiex     The research involved in this estate provides continuous fascination.   The procurer, owner & end user of this "Genius" & it's twin, was a man known only as "LiDiex".  A 4th. generation descendent of the original Man Known Only As "LiDiex", the survivor & saboteur of the slave Ship Henrietta Marie in 1701, who found his way to New Orleans to meet with the young Grandmother of our priestess, Marie Laveau.   The original LiDiex was a wood carver as were most of his descendants.   This is another case of the multi-generational relationships we have encountered with this family as the Lidiex all had a strong association with these women.  But more of that in "The Book."   He is the least mentioned of the LiDiex in her journals, yet he kept a suite of rooms with her from the time of his sixteenth birthday.  Apparently he would leave for periods of up to ten years at a time before returning.  The shutting himself in her estate for lengthy periods before leaving again.   There is no record of the death of this LiDiex.   He is attributed with the design & consecration of the "Resurrection Skull Altar" & most of the ceremonial spells used in conjunction with it. Her journals & those of a number of her live in practitioner followers, most notably those of the LiDiex, tell of this altar being used in ritual resurrection ceremonies. There are some pretty fantastic tales of animating inanimate objects, most notably a number of articulated skulls using specific minerals, potions, elixirs & reptiles.  Although most of this story will have to wait for the book, it is a subject that pertains to this lot. He is described in her journals as being "in excess of six feet of sinewy muscle, deceptively strong, easily matching two of his size in their grappling." & "extensively, shaved, tattooed and pierced." in addition to "shown to be capable of high magic without devices."  Their journals claim his ability to heal wounds, shape shift, travel through time & space, telepath & create life with the power of his thought.  They also corroborate the sharing of identities with a number of other LiDiex, "being a master of disguise and misdirection, often with his mere thought" according to these entries.  This gave these men the ability to appear two places at once, an old family ploy that was apparently often used by their Mistresses. It is this LiDiex who is attributed with making her introduction to Alexandra David Neel & his journals tell of numerous meetings & short adventures with her.  Claiming at the age of twenty four to have met Neel for the second time in the company of Prince Sidkeong of Sikkim & of being her teacher of the Tibetan language having already spent six years with the Great Hermit as apprentice.  Once again, much is already written on these subjects, so there is no need to elaborate here in this already overly long text, but we wholeheartedly recommend a cursory search for some very interesting reading. ~!~ The Red Burmite Genius & its acquisition from the Black Robes   Their notes are quite clear concerning the acquisition of a number of ancient text & artifacts found in this estate.   They name Wilfrid Michael Voynich along with his London & New York book shops as being the source of many of these items.  A number of text along with their financial records corroborate this.   They name him as being "met and turned" in Italy in 1898 & they apparently had dealings with him until his death in 1931 and with his wife until the time of her demise in 1960.  Whom by the way, they claim "was known to us prior to her marriage".   The timeline makes this LiDiex no more than eleven years old at the time of Voynich's "turning".   Voynich is also named as their intermediary with the Jesuits of Villa Mondragone in 1912.    Their journal entries concerning the "Black Robes" as they refer to the Jesuits & their acquisition of "ancient devices and texts" span decades & a number of articles from this estate have such attributes.   They claim this "Red Burmite Genius" to be one of these acquisitions.   They tell a tale of this 1888 LiDiex accompanying Voynich "under guise" to Villa Mondragone in 1912 to obtain a number of texts.  While there, he gained access to such notable finds as two spheres obtained by the Jesuits that allegedly belonged to an Edward Kelley, scryer to John Dee in the 16th. century.    He is also alleged to have "pocketed the stones known to have been in possession of the Saint's of France," which they name as "miraculous healers" & "a visionary dream healer that records all that it is exposed to."   But it is the tale of the "Geniuses" that we feel are the highlight of this story.   They allege he "felt their call" which he recognized as that of the "Family Genius of Legend", which they claim he confirmed "immediately upon entering the room" where they were kept.   They claim, the father of the above mentioned 1701 LiDiex "had been a Mullah to a Hui leader, a dealer in magic, political and military advisor who fell out of favor", perhaps because of these two pieces, causing his execution & the selling of his family into slavery which started the ill fated voyage that brought him to these shores.   It is alleged the father was born in the early 1500's & he was executed just after his 178th. birthday.   The journal that speaks of this has gotten to be somewhat illegible due to the ravages of time, but what we feel we have been able to decipher is "the essence of two brothers of ancient heritage have been contained in the blood amber by the power of his magic".   The story, which had been a family "tell" of an unnamed political leader, it is not clear if he was Chinese, but he is believed to have been, had won the disfavor of a pair of "genius".  This did not have any meaning whatsoever to us until we found reference to this in Roman Mythology as the genii and junones who were ancestors that guarded over their descendants.    Over time, they turned into personal guardian spirits, granting protection, healing & intellectual prowess.   They were worshipped in Rome under many titles in addition to the genius or juno.    They were regional, offering protection to individuals, regions, families, households and cities.   ~!~   The Family Tell   They go on to offer their origin as being Egypt, long before the rise of the Roman Empire & that they were early colonizer's of this planet some 25,000 years ago. "They have long since ascended into a conscious energy form of high magic", according to one entry.   These Djinn, as they are referred to in later entries, had been plaguing this "lord" & he was referred to this 16th. century ancestral LiDiex who either carved or had carved a pair of "Blood Amber Vessels" in which to contain them. It is clear this ancestral LiDiex made the journey from North West China to Burma to "seek out the blood sap".   Apparently this LiDiex successfully captured "their essence into these vessels", but bent them to his will causing the fallout between him & his patron.   Long sought by following generations it had become an obsession of this 1888 LiDiex to find them, but by his own hand, "I am surprised to find them in Villa Mondragone".   He goes on to write of "resurrecting their essence through my own blood" & of having lengthy conversations with the intelligent essence contained within.   The notes concerning his interrogations tell their tale of "our being captured by guile and magic, our essence being contaminated with the secret codes contained in your blood (DNA?) which is what holds us to the idols and lends us to your will".   "We were soon stolen from the China Musselman and became part of a treasure hoard belonging to a Qing Lord where we remained before being sought by the Jesuits in your eighteenth century.  Their chanting and visualization brought us forth and we did take part in much of their mischief.  They are very angry and have commissioned your death for our theft."   Apparently fear of Jesuit retaliation was not high on their list but they do make a number of entries concerning their ongoing search for these artifacts right up until the last entry concerning them in 1984.   Well guys, you know where they are now.   ~!~   Most of the entries concerning these boys describes their "wand like use" during numerous spells & incantations.  "By their own admission they favor the resurrection of the long dead and non living as a form of amusement.  They lend themselves well to any mischief or malady partaking in these events with an over abundance of energy.  They defy all other entities considering themselves and their technological magic far superior to anything they have encountered on this planet.  Yet they are bound by our blood.  They explain this by our being favored by the God of this world and his minions the Archangels who have place their codes into our blood".   There are numerous mentions of their partaking in exorcisms, all which had a favorable outcome.  The descriptions of these events being quite brief as they claim "there are no demons or maladies that can stand against them".   They also note of extreme exhaustion, followed by enhanced rejuvenation & healing after their use.   Real or imagined, we certainly understand why she & her associates were as feared & respected as they were.   ~!~   But back to the Genius   It is assuredly red amber from a Burmite (in Burma, now called Myanmar) dig played out centuries ago.   It is a museum quality carving dating to 17th. century China.   It is in near mint condition as shown, measuring approximately 6 15/16" x 2 1/8" x 1 9/16".   This has been kept in our vault up until recently & was not to be sold.  But, the decision was made to let one of them go.   What we can tell you is a even non adepts have claimed they felt it was communicating with them such as the girl who carried it across the warehouse in a box to the photo studio who blurted out, "he feels smothered & does not like it in the box.  It does not like red".  It was in a wood box lined with red tissue & she had no knowledge of the contents.   In another instance it is said to have communicated to one of the principles, voicing concern over its being sold.  According to her this listing alleviates any concerns it had. It is certainly a rare, large & unusual Burmite fetish with an extraordinary provenance that is much nicer than the photographs are able to depict.  ~!~ We have been contacted & visited by a number of people who were interested in the items from this estate since our first batch was listed. Among the buyers have been known psychics & practitioners.More than one, after adorning themselves or handling their purchase, stated "this is a woman of power!"
